Senior Software Developer

Description
9th Way Solution has a contingent opening for a Senior Software Developer to join our team in Washington, D.C. In this position, you will design, develop, monitor, modify, test, and support web applications including database and user interface components in accordance with specifications and timeline. This position will collaborate across departments to identify and understand new website and application development needs.

  • Design, develop, monitor, modify, test, and support web applications including database and user interface components in accordance with specifications and timeline
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve site and application issues; recommend and implement preventive measures to avoid future problems and improve performance
  • Maintain business requirements and enhance functionality through utilization of React and JavaScript related technologies
  • Provide program support, code and module development, support with change requests, and technical training in React, JavaScript and related technologies development program support to the customer, internal staff, and contractors
  • Identify and create governance and oversight activities associated with Drupal, React, JIRA, and JavaScript development, deployment, and content management.
  • Lead and participate in formal and informal cross-functional teams in support of projects and strategic initiatives
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate technical concepts in an understandable and concise way
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to work on multiple projects and stay within scope, schedule, cost, and quality specifications
  • Proficient knowledge of Java frameworks including REST, Hibernate, Spring Security
  • Fluency with markup and programming languages including React 8, Redux, ECMA Scripts 6, Linux Operating System, Ajax, NPM, Yarn, Node.js, CCS, HTML 5.x, JavaScript, JSON, Jenkins 1.x, Selenium 3.x, Git, Bitbucket, DevOps, Jira, Rational, and IDE
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and other related software
  • Knowledge of SOAP
  • Ability to decompose technical architectures into discrete engineering plans
  • Knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL (Sybase, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) and JPA/ORM technologies (e.g. Hibernate)
  • Experience with DevOps (dev/stg/prod) and source code repository

Requirements
  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Low-Risk Background Clearance National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI)
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in React or JavaScript solution design, error handling and logging, debugging, code re-usage and planning or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Minimum of one (1) year of Agile development methodology experience (SAFe, LESS, or Extreme) or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
Preferred
  • Active Low-Risk Background Clearance National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) or equivalent
  • Five (5) years of experience managing large, complex programs or equivalent
  • One (1) or more years of experience in Drupal Development or equivalent
  • One (1) or more years of experience in IRS development procedures, Agile Scrum, Kanban, and Rapid Delivery methodologies, tools (such as Jira, Rational), techniques, and standards to support web-based technical support services or equivalent
  • One (1) or more years of experience in creating web-based applications, databases, and associated utilities for communications; experience recommending solutions based on an understanding of the web-based information architecture, infrastructure, and organization or equivalent
  • One (1) or more years of experience in delivering Agile application development, software maintenance, and enhancements solutions to Federal Government agencies or equivalent
  • One (1) or more years of experience in developing and executing Transition Management Plans to include Risk Management, Business and Support Process Transition Approach, and Systems Transition Approach or equivalent
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent
  • Prior work experience with the IRS
 
Work Location
Regular on-time and on-site attendance is an essential function of this position. Insignia Technology Services, a 9th Way Solutions Company, reserves the right to adjust work location based upon mission requirements.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
