Requirements Analyst

9th Way Solution has a contingent opening for a Senior Software Requirements Analyst to join our team in Washington, D.C. In this position, you will design, develop, monitor, modify, test, and support JavaScript code and module development in accordance with specifications and timeline. This position will collaborate across departments to identify and understand new website and application development needs.

  • Design, develop, monitor, modify, test, and support JavaScript code and module development in accordance with specifications and timeline
  • Manage and maintain application defects, fixes, and proposed system upgrades, the application and system requirements baseline for four mission-critical IRS websites, and input user stories into Jira repository and other project management tool to maintain traceability
  • Track Jira and categorize functional and non-functional requirements and to ensure that requirements are developed in accordance with Drupal, React, and JavaScript best practice
  • Develop standard operating procedures and documentation for requirements and release management
  • Provide artifacts to track and manage each sprint item, requirements management and support, requirements analysis and scrum support for the Drupal, React,  andJavaScript
  • Support configuration management of version control systems for code management,  test plan and pipeline development from Jira, user acceptance testing, review and prioritization of defect backlog for allocation to releases and sprints, requirements elicitation and validation sessions, development and refinement of requirements, release planning activities and schedule from a requirements perspective, and sprint planning and execution from a requirements perspective
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate technical concepts in an understandable and concise way

  • Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to work on multiple projects and stay within scope, schedule, cost, and quality specifications
  • Proficient knowledge of Java frameworks including REST, Hibernate, Spring Security
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and other related software
  • Ability to identify strategies for addressing requirements, risks, and issues
  • Ability to conduct trade-off analysis of requirements against fiscal, schedule, and performance issues
  • Proficient knowledge of creating web-based applications, databases, and associated utilities for communications, and recommending solutions based on an understanding of the web-based information architecture, infrastructure, and organization.
  • Ability to complete structured analysis and design methodologies for translating business needs into system requirements
  • Experience in contributing to test plans and testing pipelines, as well as testing functionality and matching to requirements.
  • Knowledge and experience to create test scripts that ensure thorough assessment of system performance for each defined requirement
  • Ability to evaluate performance reports and results during all phases of testing, documenting findings in formal test reports
  • Knowledge of development procedures, Agile scrum, Kanban, and Rapid Delivery methodologies, tools (such as Jira, Rational), techniques, and standards to support web-based services
Requirements
  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Low-Risk Background Clearance National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI)
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with customers, users and project leads in analyzing, designing, implementing, and supporting IT business applications and systems or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • One (1) or more years of experience creating web-based applications, databases, and associated utilities for communications, and recommending solutions based on an understanding of the web-based information architecture, infrastructure, and organization; with complex requirements management within an Agile environment that includes backlog tracking, O&M requirements management and defect/tickets transition; contributing to test plans and testing pipelines; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S
 
Preferred
  • Active Low-Risk Background Clearance National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) or equivalent
  • One (1) or more years of experience creating web-based applications, databases, and associated utilities for communications, and recommending solutions based on an understanding of the web-based information architecture, infrastructure, and organization; or equivalent
  • One (1) or more years of experience with complex requirements management within an Agile environment that includes backlog tracking, O&M requirements management and defect/tickets transition or equivalent
  • One (1) or more years of contributing to test plans and testing pipelines or equivalent
  • One (1) or more years of experience testing functionality and matching to requirements or equivalent
  • Prior work experience with the IRS
 
Work Location
Regular on-time and on-site attendance is an essential function of this position. Insignia Technology Services, a 9th Way Solutions Company, reserves the right to adjust work location based upon mission requirements.

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
