Systems Administrator

Aurora, CO
Insignia Technology Services has an opening for a System Administrator to join our team in Aurora, CO. In this position you will install, maintain, configure, organize, modify, troubleshoot and support computer systems, including upgrading and monitoring software and hardware. This position will report to the Project Manager and collaborate with the other developers and IT professionals on the team as well as other government resources. 
  • Maintain troubleshooting a wide variety of systems and networks to include high volume and high availability systems
  • Troubleshoot problems and issues identified and implement corrective actions quickly
  • Administer and maintain the Local Area Network (LAN) operating systems, servers, and server-based applications software
  • Manage the file and print servers and manage user access to the LAN and file shares
  • Perform all routine operations related to the administration and maintenance of the operating system, servers, and server-based applications software
  • Responsible for Tier 2 and Tier 3 Network, PC, and applications issues
  • Log all workstation and server hardware and software, workstation, laptop and equipment problems and resolutions using the ticketing system
  • Perform and schedule all system backups for multiple network servers including the Windows servers, Linux and Windows platforms, Web services software, and other servers 
  • Perform all security patches for servers and PCs using systems as recommended by customer 
  • Maintain optimal data center operations with proper installation, cabling and network connections
  • Ensure procedures are in place for the storage, retrieval, use and archiving of data assets 
  • Maintain accurate and complete system inventory list(s) of servers and workstations and produces necessary reports
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field is required; eight (8) years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a High Risk Background Clearance positions require a full Background Investigation (BI)
  • Experience debugging protocols and processes or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Ability to travel up to 20 % as required
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the US
  • Active High Risk Background Clearance positions require a full Background Investigation (BI) or equivalent 
  • Prior work experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
